Library News: Week of Jan. 10, 2021

The Nobles County Library, 407 12th St., Worthington, is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays. The Adrian Branch Library, 214 Maine Ave., Adrian, is open from noon to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and noon to 5 p.m. Friday.

Winter Reading Program

The Winter Reading Program is underway. Come in to either library branch (or call if necessary) to sign up and get a punch card. Read 12 books (or audio books/e-books), bring the completed punch card back by March 31 and choose your prize. All participants are entered into the grand prize drawing, which will be drawn on April 1. Children’s Programming in Worthington

  • Please stop by the library or call 295-5340 to sign up for programs, as class size is limited.

  • Monday, Jan. 11: Just Gurlz (girls grades 5-9), after school until 4:45 p.m.

  • Tuesday, Jan. 12: After-School Program (grades K-5), after school until 4:45 p.m.

  • Wednesday, Jan. 13: Story Time (preschool and younger), 10 to 11 a.m.

  • Thursday, Jan. 14: After-School Program (grades K-5), after school until 4:45 p.m.

  • Please maintain a distance of six feet from non-family members when inside and wear a mask if you are able.

  • In Worthington, children under 16 must be accompanied by their parent or guardian between the hours of 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. (except during organized activities).

  • Hand sanitizer is available near the front door. Spot cleaning is done throughout the day and after hours.

  • Please bring exact change or the nearest dollar amount for copies, scans, faxes, etc. Large bills cannot be accepted.

Friends of the Library Book Club meets at 7 p.m. Jan. 25 via Zoom. The book being discussed is "The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks" by Rebecca Skloot. All are welcome to join. Contact the library if interested in participating.
