Screen-free Saturdays offered each Saturday morning at the Adrian Branch Library.

WORTHINGTON — The Nobles County Library, 407 12th St., Worthington , is open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. The Adrian Branch Library, 214 Maine Ave., Adrian, is open from noon to 6 p.m. Monday-Thursday, noon to 5 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

New Science Fiction/Fantasy Monthly Book Club: Meetings are at 6 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month in the library. We'll discuss how each of our books connects to the theme of the month and what we liked/disliked about the book. Call 507-295-5340 or e-mail nobleslib@co.nobles.mn.us to sign up.

Fall Book Sale at Worthington : Nov. 1-6, during regular business hours on the main level of the library. There usually is a variety of adult fiction, science fiction and non-fiction books; young adult books, paperbacks, children’s books, audiobooks, CDs and DVDs. Watch for the bag sale at the end of the week! Book sales are open to the public and not restricted to library card users.

Screen-free Saturdays in Adrian : Every Saturday from Oct. 9 through May 21, excluding holiday weekends, visit the Adrian Branch Library for games from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Bring your favorite board game or play one available at the library. For students in Kindergarten through eighth grade.

Youth programming

Registration requested at the library or by calling 295-5340. Students are responsible for their own ride to and from the library, and should be picked up by 5 p.m.

  • Thursday: Halloween Haunted House (Grades K-5). Preregistration requested.

  • Friday: Halloween Haunted House (Grades K-5). Preregistration requested.

  • Oct. 25: Just Gurlz (girls Grades 5-9), after school until 4:45 p.m.

  • Oct. 26: After-School Program (grades K-5), after school until 4:45 p.m.

Halloween Haunted House for grades K-5: 10 to 11:30 a.m.; noon to 1:30 p.m. or 2 to 3:30 p.m. Oct. 21, and noon to 1:30 p.m. or 2 to 3:30 p.m. Oct. 22. Wear your Halloween costume and join us for a movie, craft, games and a haunted house tour at the Worthington library. Please register for one of the parties on or before Oct. 20, as space is limited. Please stop by the library or call 295-5340.

Oct. 21: Tips to Make Your Money Work program offered from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 21 in Spanish (Consejos para hacer que su dinero funcione, Jueves, 21 de Octubre desde las 6:30 a 7:30 p.m.) Listen to strategies on how to make your money work: How to do a budget, how to pay debt, etc. (Escuche estrategias sobre como hacer que su dinero funcione: como hacer un presupuesto, como pagar deudas, etc.)

Oct. 28: Musical artist Dennis Warner will perform at 1 p.m. at the Adrian Senior Citizens Center, 120 N. Maine Ave., and at 4 p.m. at First Lutheran Church, Worthington.

Nov. 18: Winter Skies Star Party with Mike Lynch and Paul Seifert, 5:30 to 8 p.m., Minnesota West Community & Technical College, 1450 College Way, Worthington. Meet in the northwest corner of the parking lot next to the observatory.
