PIPESTONE — All national parks will waive entrance fees on five special days in 2022:

Jan. 17: Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

April 16: First day of National Park Week

Aug. 4: Anniversary of the Great American Outdoors Act

Sept. 24: National Public Lands Day

Nov. 11: Veterans Day

Free entrance fee days offer an extra incentive to visit one of these amazing places and discover the beauty and history that lives in our national parks. National Park Service sites are located in every state and in many major cities.

Pipestone National Monument was designated in 1937 to protect the quarrying rights of American Indian people and provide for the enjoyment of all. The monument does not currently charge an entrance fee but will offer special activities to celebrate the 2022 fee-free days.
