Polka service, German meal set for Sunday

SIBLEY, Iowa — Trinity Lutheran Church's 11th annual Polka Worship Service and German meal will take place Sunday at the church, 702 Poplar Drive.

The Polka Worship Service will begin at 10 a.m., with the German meal to follow. Serving will be from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and will include brats and hot dogs, sauerkraut, German potato salad and chips, corn, homemade desserts and drink.

There will be a free-will offering for the meal.

Youth rally scheduled for Feb. 5

WORTHINGTON — The Worthington Area Youth Ministers Association invites all youths in seventh through 12th grade to the 507 Youth Rally, which will take place Feb. 5 at Living Waters Covenant Church.

The event starts at 6:30 p.m. with free pizza, followed by a youth rally from 7 to 8 p.m. The rally is to unite youths and encourage them in their walks of faith. For more information, phone the church at 376-5109.

Informal worship service is Feb. 16

WORTHINGTON — American Reformed Church will host its informal worship service at 10 a.m. Feb. 16 in the ARC Center.

Jill Koopman will share a story of perseverance during a challenging season of life. She speaks on unanswered questions, coming to acceptance and discovering God's purpose for her life. Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy a relaxed atmosphere at round tables sipping coffee and hot chocolate. A meal will be served following the service. All are welcome.

Food shelf to receive donations from Hy-Vee in February

WORTHINGTON — The Worthington Christian Church Food Shelf has been selected by Hy-Vee to be the benefiting non-profit for the month of February 2020.

Beginning Feb. 1, for individuals who purchase a reusable bag at Hy-Vee for $2.50, $1 will be donated to the Worthington Christian Food Shelf. The bags are available at various registers and at the reusable bag rack.
