SHELDON, Iowa – Iowa State University (ISU) Extension and Outreach will host a “Freezing Your Food Fresh” workshop from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 5 at Love INC of O’Brien County in Sheldon; and from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 6 at the Donation Garden near Heartwood Heights, Sibley.

The free one-hour program will focus on harvesting fresh vegetables and preserving them in the freezer. Local ISU Extension and Outreach Horticulture Program Coordinator Dawn Henderson and Human Sciences Specialist in Nutrition and Wellness Renee Sweers will lead the hands-on workshop. To end the evening, each participant will also receive a freezer bag to save food from their own home and garden.
