BREWSTER - An abandoned farmhouse in rural Brewster is considered a total loss after being engulfed by flames after 1 a.m. Thursday.
“It was pretty well gone when we got there,” said Brewster Fire Chief John Garmer of the farmhouse on 210th Street east of Town Avenue.
The fire also spread to a nearby grove and surrounding grass, he added.
The Brewster Fire Department responded at 1:40 a.m. and was on the scene for two and a half to three hours, Garmer said.
As requested, the Worthington Fire Department provided tanker assistance.
There were no injuries, and the cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
