YMCA presents awards at annual event

WORTHINGTON —  The Worthington Area YMCA hosted its annual Volunteer and Youth Awards Ceremony on Nov. 19 and presented multiple awards.

Each year, the YMCA recognizes many youths with Hall of Fame Sportsmanship Awards along with the Overall Sportsmanship Awards. Additionally, two teens are recognized with leadership awards, and volunteers are recognized for their time and efforts, The Y also gives out the Youth Development, Healthy Living and Social Responsibility, Strong Kids Star and Volunteer of the Year awards.

2018 recipients are:

Program Volunteer Recognition/Appreciation: Trebor Swinea, Grace Devries, Trista Jacobs, Andy Garcia

Ethel Wigersma Memorial Swim Team Award: Blaine Doeden

John Troth - Swim Team: Lance Gordon
