WORTHINGTON - The University of Minnesota Extension Center for Community Vitality is conducting a survey of newcomers in Nobles County.
The goal is to hear from newcomers about their moves to rural places; to understand what’s difficult, what they like about their new home, and whether they feel integrated into the community. The Extension will use findings from the study to help rural communities focus on workforce recruitment, and to think about how to welcome and involve newcomers in the community.
The Extension is aiming to understand better what motivates households to move, how satisfied recent movers are with their communities and the ways that recent movers get involved in their communities. The survey is accessible in English, Spanish, Somali and Hmong languages online at z.umn.edu/newmoversurvey. Please enter the code: 12345
