JACKSON - Two motorcyclists sustained serious injuries in a Sunday afternoon crash in rural Jackson.
According to a press release issued Tuesday by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Matthew Everett, 33, of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Mandy Clark, 40, of Worthington were ejected from their 2000 Harley Davidson motorcycle on a paved road at 4:40 p.m. Sunday. They were both transported to the Jackson Medical Center by the Jackson Ambulance with serious injuries.
According to the initial investigation, Everett was driving the motorcycle westbound on Jackson County Road 14 about a quarter-mile east of Jackson County Road 17 when he swerved for an unknown object on the roadway and lost control. Clark was a passenger. Neither Everett nor Clark was wearing a helmet. The motorcycle received heavy damage.
County Road 14 remained closed for about two hours.
The Jackson Fire Department and Lakefield Police Department also assisted at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
