BINGHAM LAKE - A Windom man died Wednesday afternoon of injuries sustained following a fatal motorcycle vs. semi crash south of Bingham Lake.

According to a press release from the Cottonwood County Sheriff’s Office, Mark Raverty, 41, died Wednesday after being flown by medical helicopter to Sanford USD Medical Center and Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D.

Raverty was the driver of a 2001 Harley Davidson touring motorcycle that was eastbound on Cottonwood County 17 around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday. A 2005 Freightliner Semi Tractor with a loaded gravel hauler trailer driven by 65-year-old Luayn Ruch-Hammond, of LaSalle, was southbound on Cottonwood County 2. The two vehicles collided at the intersection. Raverty was not wearing a helmet.

As of Friday morning, the crash remained under investigation.

Assisting agencies included the Windom Police Department, Minnesota State Patrol, Windom Fire Department, Windom Ambulance and Mountain Lake Ambulance.
