WORTHINGTON - A Worthington police officer and another individual were taken to the hospital Tuesday morning after a multi-vehicle crash in east Worthington.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol crash report, Worthington Police Sgt. Timothy E. Gaul, 53, and Daniela Monser Sanchez, 31, of Worthington were taken to Sanford Worthington Medical Center with believed non-life threatening injuries.

According to the report, Gaul was conducting a traffic stop on eastbound Minnesota 60 around 6 a.m. when his 2014 Ford Explorer squad car was struck by a 2017 Ram Crewcab pickup driven by Tina L. Kraft, 41, of Worthington. Gaul was in the squad car when it was struck. Due to the impact, the squad car was pushed into the stopped 2007 GMC Acadia driven by Sanchez. The pickup's airbag deployed.

The crash occurred on the stretch of Minnesota 60 between the Oxford Street traffic circle and traffic light near Holiday and JBS.

All three vehicles were disabled due to the impact, MSP reports.

According to Worthington Police Capt. Kevin Flynn, Gaul was transported to the hospital by squad car while Sanchez was taken by Sanford Ambulance.
