ADRIAN — A ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday to celebrate Lincoln Pipestone Rural Water System’s connection to Lewis & Clark. The event will be at the Adrian meter building/pump station, which is three miles east of Adrian along Nobles County 35.
Lincoln Pipestone Rural Water started receiving water from Lewis & Clark at the Adrian facility on May 13. As many of the directors of LPRWS are farmers, this was the earliest the celebration could be scheduled.
For LPRWS, this is the second of two connections. It started receiving water from Lewis & Clark at its Magnolia connection in November 2017 (550,000 gallons per day). The Adrian connection provides another 550,000 gallons per day, for a total reserved capacity of up to 1.1 million gallons per day.
This celebration is for Lincoln Pipestone being fully connected to Lewis & Clark.
