WORTHINGTON — Between Thanksgiving and Christmas, more than 1 million units of blood could be transfused in the United States. Individuals are urged to give a lifesaving gift this holiday season by making an appointment to donate blood or platelets and help the American Red Cross ensure a sufficient supply is available for patients throughout the holiday season. Those with type O blood are especially needed.

Jasper: 12:30 to 6:30 p.m. Dec. 17, Evangelical Lutheran Church, 101 Spicer St.
Luverne: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 18, Luverne High School, 709 N. Kniss.
Mountain Lake: 2 to 6 p.m. Dec. 20, Community Center, 1027 Second Ave.
Slayton: 1 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Christ Lutheran Church, 2959 Queen Ave.
Storden: 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Dec. 13, American Legion, Main Street.
Worthington: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 20, Worthington Area YMCA, 1501 Collegeway.
