Okabena man dead after one-car Jackson County crash
OKABENA — An Okabena man died Friday as a result of a one-vehicle crash on Jackson County 20.
According to a Jackson County Sheriff’s Office press release issued Saturday afternoon, deputies responded at 5:18 a.m. Friday to a crash on Jackson County 20 near 360th Avenue in Alba Township. It was reported that a vehicle hit the bridge over the Okabena Creek and was on fire.
The driver and only occupant, James Decker, 25, od Okabena, was fatally injured. A 2007 Subaru Legacy GT was totaled. The Okabena Fire Department, Heron Lake Fire Department, Martin County Dive Rescue Team, Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and Minnesota State Patrol assisted at the scene.
