ADRIAN -- Arnold Memorial Healthcare Center announced Tuesday it has changed its name to Sanford Adrian Care Center.
The name change for the long-term care facility takes effect immediately and further enhances the relationship between Sanford Adrian Care Center and Sanford Health.
"Changing our name to Sanford Adrian Care Center allows us to form a closer connection with Sanford Health," Gayle Funk, CEO for Sanford Adrian Care Center, stated in a press release.
Sanford Adrian Care Center and Sanford Health have had a formal relationship since 1998.
"There is a lot of strength in the Sanford organization and name," Funk added. "This new facility name connects us even more to this progressive health care system."

To honor Dr. Elmer Arnold, a rose garden near the long term care center will be planted. Dr. Arnold served as a general practitioner in the Adrian community for more than 40 years. He died in 1959.
Sanford Adrian Care Center is a skilled 41-bed nursing home that has provided quality long-term and rehabilitative care since 1969. With a focus on convenient health care close to home, the nursing home is located adjacent to the Sanford Clinic in Adrian.
