After dropping first two games, Luverne beats Lennox

LUVERNE -- The Luverne Cardinals' volleyball team rallied from down two games to none Tuesday, pulling out a 22-25, 17-25, 25-6, 25-16, 16-14 victory against Lennox.

Meghan Cronberg had 11 kills and five blocks for Luverne, Hillary Hanson added 10 kills, and Dina Xaphakby added 38 set assists.

Erin Hoiland also had nine kills and five blocks for Luverne, which hosts Marshall Thursday.

Windom 3, MCW 1

TRIMONT -- Windom improved to 13-3 with a road victory over Martin County West, 25-15, 18-25, 25-19, 25-15.


Casey Christensen recorded 18 blocks and nine kills to lead the Eagles. She was also 16-for-18 serving with two aces.

Megan Ysker had 19 set assists and six kills, while Amy Robinson had eight kills.

Windom plays a key game Thursday when it travels to take on the Pipestone Area Arrows.

SSC 3, W-WG 0

OKABENA -- Southwest Star Concept remained undefeated in the Red Rock Conference with a home victory over Westbrook-Walnut Grove, 25-9, 25-6, 25-12.

SSC (5-0, 8-3) was led by Linnea Henkels with 11 kills and two ace blocks. Chelsey Knutson was next on the Quasars' kill chart with six.

Shannon Hussong and Sydney Place each had 15 digs. Hussong was the team's leading server, going 16-for-17 with 14 points and four aces.

Chelsey Cranston totaled 23 set assists for the Quasars, who play at Southwest Christian Thursday.


Whitney Frank led W-WG with four kills. Denise Tietz had nine digs and seven set assists.

Tietz (4-for-4, one ace) and Andrea Hass (7-for-7, one ace) led the Chargers in serving. Hass also had seven digs.

W-WG (2-3, 6-9-2) visits Adrian Thursday.

Fulda 3, RRC 0

JEFFERS -- Fulda pulled out a close victory in Game 1 before going on to complete a road sweep over Red Rock Central, 27-25, 25-18, 25-16.

Laura Kramer put down 15 kills to lead Fulda (4-1, 11-4-1). Kaitlyn Kramer registered 12 kills and was 16-for-17 serving with 12 points and two aces.

Sam Raddle passed out 22 set assists and served for seven points and two aces on a 13-for-13 performance.

Brittany Freese and Mandy Gunderman led the Raiders in digs with 13 and 12, respectively.


RRC (2-3, 7-11) was led by Abby Halter's nine kills. Danielle Trapp had six kills and was 11-for-12 serving with seven points.

Krystle Sell handed out 27 set assists, while Kelly Shaner (8-for-10, five points, one ace) and Shannon Altermat (7-for-7, four points, one ace) served well for the Falcons, who visit Murray County Central Thursday.

Fulda hosts Round Lake-Brewster Thursday.

Edgerton 3, Adrian 0

ADRIAN -- Amy Kallemeyn's solid all-around match helped the Edgerton Flying Dutchmen pick up a road victory at Adrian, 25-22, 25-9, 25-21.

Kallemeyn chalked up 16 kills, 10 service points, five digs and three ace blocks. Dulci Boyum and Brittany DeGroot each had five digs.

Alexa Vanden Bosch charted 29 set assists, Allyson Drooger was 17-for19 serving with 13 points, and Heather Van Kley had two ace blocks for the Flying Dutchmen (5-1, 12-4-1).

Kayla Bullerman led Adrian with 12 set assists and six service points.

Briana Niebuhr came up with 10 digs, and Meghan Graff put down six kills for the Dragons (1-4, 2-12-3).

Edgerton travels to Ellsworth Thursday, while Adrian hosts Westbrook-Walnut Grove.

RL-B 3, ML-B-O 0

ROUND LAKE -- Krystle Doeden went 23-for-23 serving with five aces and 17 points -- along with six kills -- as Round Lake-Brewster bounced back from Monday's loss to Worthington with a 25-16, 25-18, 25-21 victory.

Amanda Baumgarn was 13-for-14 serving with one ace and 10 points, to go with 13 digs and six kills for the Raiders (6-3). Kasey McNab had 24 set assists, Kelli Correll picked up 11 digs and five kills, and Brittany Wiese was 9-for-11 serving for four points and two aces.

Ashley Karschnik led ML-B-O (4-10-1) with 15 set assists and two aces. Lacey Janzen and Kaysee Nesmoe each had five kills and three blocks.

RL-B is at Fulda Thursday, while ML-B-O travels to H-BC.

SWC 3, Ellsworth 0

EDGERTON -- Kristin Broekhuis went 15-for-17 serving for 14 points, and Erin Mouw had 32 set assists to lead Southwest Christian past Ellsworth, 25-7, 25-8, 26-24.

Kelsey Van Dyke added 11 kills for SWC, which hosts SSC Thursday.

Brooke Kramer had 12 kills and nine service points for Ellsworth, which hosts Edgerton Thursday.
