LUVERNE -- The Rock County Corn and Soybean Growers, Rock County Dairy Producers, Rock County Pork Producers, Rock-Nobles Cattlemen and Rock County Farm Bureau will host an Agricultural Forum beginning at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Blue Mound Banquet Center, Luverne. There is a fee to attend, payable at the door.
Speakers include Chad Gregory, senior VP of the United Egg Producers (UEP), and Dave Preisler, Minnesota Pork Producers Association (MPPA) executive director. They will speak about the changes that have occurred in agriculture, the future and how we look at the situation.
Gregory has worked first-hand with the changes in agriculture practices. He will explain the historical agreement made between the UEP and the Humane Society of the United States on the transition from conventional cages to enriched colony cages over the next 15-18 years.
Preisler will comment on the pork industry's stance on the changes happening within the industry.
