LUVERNE -- The sixth annual Art Rocks Fine Arts Festival will be this Saturday at the Rock County Courthouse Square in Luverne.
Featuring regional fine artists, free entertainment, food vendors and a farmers market, the event is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
People will be able to meet the artists and buy a wide range of works, from paintings and pottery to custom furniture, block prints, photography, sculptures and jewelry, among other items. Artists hail from the tri-state area for this juried art show.
In conjunction with Art Rocks is the fourth annual Kids Rock Sidewalk Chalk Contest from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. No pre-registration is required, and cash prizes will be awarded in three age divisions: K-3, 4-6 and 7-12.
Capping off the day's activities is the Blue Mounds Writers Series event at the Blue Mounds State Park Interpretive Center at 7 p.m. The evening will feature authors Robert and Ruth Bly, accompanied by musician David Whetstone. Live music will be performed by Jerry Ostensoe prior to the readings and during intermission.
