ASHTON, Iowa -- Ashton Town & Country Days get under way today and continue through Sunday.
A double-elimination softball tournament is first on the agenda, with games beginning today and continuing throughout the weekend. Food booths will open at 6 p.m. today and Friday and at 9 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
The flea market and craft show will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. The parade is slated to begin at 1:30 p.m.
Other Saturday events include: Kids Fishing Derby, 9 to 11 a.m., Ashton Pits; Kids Carnival, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.; fire truck rides, 10 to 11 a.m.; wheelchair races, 2:30 p.m., city shed; DeBoer Grocery Museum, open after parade; bean bag tournament, 3 p.m.; Kids Pedal Pull, for ages 4-11, 3 p.m.; dance, music by Metro Mix, 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.
