CASS LAKE, Minn. -- The Cass County (Minn.) Sheriff's Office on Thursday identified 19-year-old Brandon Morgan Jr. of Cass Lake as the victim of a homicide discovered earlier this week.

The sheriff's office also said a 15-year-old male has been arrested in connection to the case. Formal charges are pending, but as a minor, there likely will be only limited information about the suspect, officials said.

The sheriff's office first announced the death Wednesday. A press release from the sheriff's office said deputies responded to a call at a residence at roughly 5:53 p.m. on Monday. Sheriff Tom Burch said deputies were responding to a medical call regarding an unresponsive person. They found Morgan dead at the scene.

The initial release from the sheriff's office said homicide was "suspected as the cause of death." The updated release Thursday, however, said the cause of death was ruled as a homicide.

An autopsy has been scheduled with the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office.
