WORTHINGTON - A Bigelow man faces criminal charges in Nobles County District Court after allegedly choking a woman and shoving her to the ground, reportedly causing a head injury.
Erasmo Rodriguez, 23, has been charged with two counts of domestic assault, one felony and one misdemeanor. The felony-level charge is punishable up to three years imprisonment, a $5,000 fine or both.
According to the criminal complaint, a woman reported that Rodriguez had choked her to the point she could not breathe. He also reportedly pushed her, causing her to hit her head on cement and black out for a few seconds. She reportedly visited the hospital a couple of days after the incident due to recurring headaches.
Photographs of the victim’s bruises were taken. Photos of threatening text messages were also captured for evidence.
Rodriguez’s conditional bail was scheduled at $5,000 and his unconditional at $10,000.
