WORTHINGTON -- A truck driver who has been missing for several days was found dead early Friday morning in Sangamon County, Ill., in the village of Divernon.

Gena "Jay" Bicknese, 54, of Bigelow, was last heard from in Pawnee, Ill., according to a family friend, who said the cell phone signal had been tracked and was in the same area for several days.

The Nobles County Sheriff's Office was notified at approximately 6:45 a.m. Friday that Bicknese had been found.

Divernon Police Officer Eric Bertoni said a call came in at 6:18 a.m., alerting them to Bicknese's presence.

He was found in his truck at a gas station frequently used by truckers to park and sleep.

Bertoni said they had information that Bicknese had contacted someone earlier this week and told them he thought he had food poisoning. He was reportedly just crossing the Illinois border during that phone call, Bertoni said.

According to the Sangamon County Coroners Office, Bicknese died of natural causes.

"There was no violence, no foul play," a representative stated.
