BLACKDUCK - About 3 p.m. Sept. 15 Blackduck Schools received a note that stated there were explosives in the building.

"At that time, we evacuated all the students to the designated churches. Thanks so much to those churches," Blackduck School Superintendent Bob Doetsch said. "Within 10 minutes, the students were evacuated there and completely safe."

The police came from Bemidji very quickly, Doetsch said, and they thoroughly checked the building going from room to room. After checking, they felt the school was safe to return to school.

"We continue to work with the Bemidji Police to apprehend the culprit," Doetsch said.
