PARK RAPIDS - A 10-year-old student at Laporte school was airlifted to a Twin Cities hospital Friday afternoon following an accident on the school playground.
Authorities said the boy fell or jumped an estimated 8 to 10 feet off the platform of a handicapped ramp while playing with a group of children.
The boy was not moving his extremities so school personnel called for a medivac helicopter. The accident occurred about 12:30 p.m.
The boy was transported to North Memorial Hospital.
