LUVERNE -- Several interpretive programs will be offered in July at Blue Mounds State Park, Luverne.

"Camouflage Hike" will teach participants about how animals use camouflage to hide from predators and catch their meals at 4 p.m. Friday. At 7 p.m. Friday, "Tricky Tracks" will offer information about animal tracks and identifying them in the wild. Meeting place for both these programs is the interpretive center.

"What's In the Water" will be offered at 11 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. Participants will take a closer look with a microscope and learn how some insects can indicate the pollution level in water. Meet at the beach.

A "History Hike" will begin at 7 p.m. Saturday at the interpretive center. The 1½-mile hike along the mysterious rock alignment and Sioux quartzite quarry will offer insights into Blue Mounds history.

Vehicle permits are required for entry into the park.
