SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- The Dakotas Region of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) will host its third annual Spring Conference from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 4 at Central Baptist Church in Sioux Falls.
Keynote speaker is Tim Gillner, Art Director for Boyds Mills Press in Honesdale, Pa. A graduate of the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, Gillner has worked in the book and magazine industry for 30 years. Gillner will speak to writers and illustrators about the creation of the picture book.
Other speakers include S.T. Underdahl, author of two young adult novels, "The Other Sister" and "Remember This"; Jean L.S. Patrick, author of "The Girl Who Struck Out Babe Ruth"; and Mary Scarbrough, author of twelve nonfiction children's books.
Writers and illustrators of all levels are invited to attend. Advance registration is required.
