WORTHINGTON -- Tom Lemke was named the 2007 Employee of the Year March 8 at the hospital's annual holiday party.

The award was based on nominations from his co-workers and was presented to him by WRH Chief Executive Officer Melvin Platt.

Lemke began his employment at WRH as an emergency medical technician on the ambulance department in 1999. He continues to serve that role and also teaches CPR and first aid classes through the hospital.

"This is a very humbling award that I am honored to have received," Lemke said. "I can't even begin to express my gratitude to my fellow employees. Their support and friendship means so much. This is a wonderful place to work. I wish I would have become an EMT sooner in life, as it is the most rewarding job I have ever had. Thank you to the administration and staff for this award."

Lemke lives in Worthington with his wife, Nancy. They have two sons, Jeremy and Nathan. Lemke works full time at Bedford Industries. He enjoys high school and college sports and is also active in community youth and club activities.
