LUVERNE -- Andrew Hanson, a member of the B Battery, 1-125th Field Artillery who was injured in Iraq, will return home today.

A homecoming celebration is planned in Luverne, and people are asked to wave flags and cheer their hometown hero home.

Hanson will be part of a caravan -- escorted by the Rock County Sheriff's Department and the Patriot Guard -- through Luverne at 2 p.m.

The caravan will begin at the Luverne City Park, travel along Main Street to U.S. 75, then north to the Minnesota Veterans Home. It will turn around at the veteran's home, then travel past the Luverne High School and Elementary School, and then on to the Hanson home.

Because of the impending snow storm, the plans may be changed. Any changes will be announced on KQAD radio.
