APPLETON -- Pioneer Public Television will air Meet the Candidate forums featuring Minnesota State House of Representatives candidates from Districts 22A and 22B on Oct. 30.
District 22A Republican Doug Magnus, incumbent from Slayton, and DFL challenger Mike McCarvel of Brewster are scheduled to appear live beginning at 8 p.m. At 9 p.m., candidates from House District 22B, incumbent Rod Hamilton, R-Mountain Lake, and challenger Richard Peterson, DFL- Olivia, will debate.
The Meet the Candidate forums are being aired on Thursday evenings to provide constituents an opportunity to hear candidates in an unbiased setting. Moderated by Jim Thoreen, viewers are invited to phone their questions to Pioneer at 1-800-726-3178 during each program or e-mail yourtv@pioneer.org .
"The vast regions of our rural districts make it difficult for voters to see their candidates side by side," said Pioneer General Manager Les Heen. "The Meet the Candidate setting is a perfect opportunity for Pioneer to help educate everyone before the elections in November."
