Brief: Public input sought on transportation

SLAYTON -- The Southwest Regional Development Commission (SRDC) Transportation Committee will meet at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Center for Regional Development, 2401 Broadway Ave., Slayton.

SLAYTON -- The Southwest Regional Development Commission (SRDC) Transportation Committee will meet at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Center for Regional Development, 2401 Broadway Ave., Slayton.

Agenda topics will be the SRDC Transportation Work Program for fiscal year 2010 and information about the Western Freight Plan, the Transit Implementation Plan and other transportation planning activities in the region and statewide.

A public information meeting will follow at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. Sponsored by SRDC and Area Transportation Partnerships (ATP) 7 and 8, the purpose of the public meeting is to review and comment on projects that are in the draft Area Transportation Improvement Program (ATIP) scheduled for federal funding for fiscal years 2010-2013 and to identify transportation projects or issues that are not addressed by the draft ATIP.

Project categories for federal funding include: transit buses, roads and bridges, safety and transportation enhancements
