ST. PAUL -- Dist. 22A Rep. Doug Magnus, R-Slayton, said area veterans will likely be interested in subscribing to an e-mail publication produced by the Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs.

The MDVA Newsletter informs veterans of programs that are available to those who served our country, as well as other veterans issues that are being discussed and debated across the state.

"Sometimes veterans aren't exactly sure what programs are offered in Minnesota," Magnus said. "Subscribing to this newsletter is a good place to start, as you can learn about topics ranging from Veterans Homes to the G.I. Bill."

Magnus said MDVA Newsletter is published monthly. Veterans can subscribe by visiting www.mdva.state.mn.us/newsletter .

Magnus recently attended the deployment ceremony of the 34th Infantry Division in St. Paul. The 10,000 troops, known as the Red Bulls, are currently stationed at Fort Lewis in Washington for additional training and will soon be shipped to Iraq.
