SIBLEY, Iowa -- The Osceola County Sheriff's Office caught a burglar in the act early Wednesday morning.
Responding to a call about a burglary in progress at 4:30 a.m. Wednesday at J&M Liquor Store in Sibley, investigating deputies discovered a broken window and a large screwdriver on the ground below a window. Deputies located Craig Wendell Ammerman, 27, of Sibley, in a walk-in cooler inside the store.
Ammerman was taken into custody and charged with third-degree burglary, a class D felony, and fourth-degree criminal mischief, a serious misdemeanor.
Ammerman is being held in the Osceola County Jail on $6,000 bond.
