WORTHINGTON -- Round-Up: "To gather together!" Wow, what an exciting way to start our incoming Kindergarteners into a new experience.
Prairie Elementary will be holding this year's Kindergarten Round-Up on Monday, March 31. To try to accommodate parents' schedules, we will have three sessions. Please feel free to select the one that works best for you. The morning session will be held from 8:30 to 10 a.m., an afternoon session from noon to 1:30 p.m., and an early evening session from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
If you are in need of transportation, please call Head Start at 376-4195. They will assist you in getting to the session that works best with your schedule.
We encourage you to bring your future kindergarten student with you to Round-Up. Activities are planned to help familiarize your child with the school. Upon completion, your child will receive a "Goodie Bag" containing items that have been donated from outside resources.
The sessions will have a bead activity furnished by Head Start, story time, and a sing-a--long for children, as well as an informational meeting for the parents. Items that will be covered are registration of student, general information, program information, special education information, health information, busing information and a tour of the school.

Registration information was distributed through the daycare centers or preschools that your child attends. Those children who do not attend a preschool or daycare center were to have registration packets mailed to their home by Thursday.
For anyone who does not receive the information and has a child that will be 5 by September 1, 2008, please contact Prairie Elementary at 727-1250 for assistance in registering your child. Ask for Jeanette Varuska or Tammi Altman.
Spanish and Lao interpreters will be available.
We hope you can join us for this fun-filled day. However, if it does not work for your schedule, please feel free to drop off the registration materials in our office during the school day.
Jeanette Varuska is Title I coordinator and Tammi Altman is preschool screening coordinator in Worthington School District 518.
