MARSHALL - Community Transit of United Community Action Partnership was recently awarded a $289,200 Minnesota Department of Transportation grant to begin two pilot projects - a route between Fulda and Worthington and regular route service in Redwood Falls.
The Fulda to Worthington bus route will serve people of Murray County beginning approximately July 1. The route was developed at the urging of Murray County transit advisory committee members because of the large numbers of people who need to get to Worthington for medical appointments.
Once the service begins, Murray County residents may schedule rides between Fulda and Worthington on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
During the pilot project, Community Transit will track the effectiveness of the new route. If they are successful, the goal would be to get additional financial support to continue the route.
