WORTHINGTON - The Worthington Concert Association’s 20-17-2018 season begins at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Memorial Auditorium Performing Arts Center with a concert featuring pianist, composer and visual artist Scott Kirby.
Kirby will present “Main Street Souvenirs,” a multimedia stage performance featuring live piano music, a spoken narrative and video presentation. The first half of the program spans about 150 years of American pop, jazz and folk music, including tunes by Scott Joplin, Stephen Foster, John Philip Sousa and others continuing to the present time. The second half of the program features Kirby’s original compositions for piano, his original paintings and old photos from long ago all joined together as he plays the piano and talks about the history of the American Great Plains and prairies.
