Conservation tillage workshops

WORTHINGTON -- A series of workshops are planned March 11-12 to present research information collected on the Heron Lake Watershed District Conservation Tillage Demonstration plot.

WORTHINGTON -- A series of workshops are planned March 11-12 to present research information collected on the Heron Lake Watershed District Conservation Tillage Demonstration plot.

The workshops will include results of organic matter increases or decreases, residue management, yield differences and costs, long-term effects of tillage types, soil structure, fertility, compaction, guidance systems and carbon credit pros and cons.

Workshops are planned from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. March 11 at the Fulda Community Center; from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. March 11 at the Lakefield Multi-Purpose Center; and from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. March 12 at the Farmer's Room in Worthington.
