A Bemidji Pioneer story about a collision of two boats on Cass Lake Aug. 9 was published Aug. 10. A new version inadvertently appeared on GrandForksHerald.com this morning with today's date, which wrongly gives the impression that the boat collision occurred Sunday, Aug. 16. We apologize for the confusion.

BEMIDJI - Two boats collided Sunday evening on Cass Lake north of Star Island.

According to a press release from the Beltrami County Sheriff's Office:

Shortly after 8 p.m., a 17-foot 2005 Glastron, operated by John Harstad, 46, of Eden Prairie, Minn., struck a 1999 Starcraft that was occupied by eight individuals, who were not identified. None of the eight is a resident of Minnesota.

Those eight occupants were ejected from their boat due to the collision. All were wearing their life jackets and were rescued by "Good Samaritans" who responded to the scene.
