WORTHINGTON -- The filing period for candidates seeking election to the Worthington City Council and District 518 school board concluded Tuesday, and candidates for each open seat -- barring a coordinated write-in campaign -- will all run unopposed.
Candidates for city council are Rod Sankey (Ward 1), incumbent Scott Nelson (Ward 2) and Diane Graber (at-large). Neither Ward 1's Lyle Ten Haken, a 12-year member of the council, or Mike Woll, who is concluding his second four-year term, opted to seek re-election.
Each of the candidates filing for the school board is an incumbent. Joel Lorenz, Linden Olson, Brad Shaffer and Steve Schnieder have all filed to serve once again. No other seats on the board are up for election.
