WORTHINGTON — A Sioux Falls, S.D. woman was sentenced to 360 days in jail for taking law enforcement on high-speed chase across Nobles County that included the communities of Rushmore, Adrian and Luverne .
Mary R. Weddell, 24, was convicted this week of felony fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle; fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance, a gross misdemeanor; and misdemeanor DWI. She was also fined $75. The sentences are to run concurrently.
As of Tuesday’s sentencing, Weddell had already served 112 days in the Nobles County Jail. She was also sentenced to one year and one day in prison, which is to be stayed for one year.
One other charge was dismissed as part of the plea agreement.
Sean J. Symouksavanh, a co-defendant in the case, was sentenced last year to five years in prison for possessing a firearm after being previously convicted of a crime of violence.
