Jackson woman accused of driving car into downtown establishment

JACKSON — A Jackson woman allegedly drove her vehicle into a Jackson bar and grill Saturday on the basis of a personal vendetta against one of its employees.

According to the criminal complaint, Jackson County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Mckayla K. Hart at approximately 6 p.m. Saturday. The 27-year-old was seen fleeing on foot after allegedly driving her vehicle into the front of Bridget’s Bucksnorts Brew Ha-Ha Bar and Grill in downtown Jackson.

Upon contact, Hart allegedly told a deputy that she had intentionally crashed her vehicle after a physical dispute ensued between she and one of the bar and grill’s employees over a personal matter.

The complaint cites that the vehicle’s front passenger side had come to a rest in the bar and grill’s entryway. A repair estimate to the building tallied damages at $1,094.

As a result of the incident, Hart has been charged with first-degree criminal damage to property, a felony, and domestic assault, a misdemeanor. Hart’s unconditional bail was set at $20,000.

Her initial appearance in Jackson County District Court is scheduled for Wednesday.
