Two jail prisoners from Sioux Falls still on the loose
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- Two inmates who escaped from a minimum security work release jail facility on Wednesday, Aug. 8, were still on the loose as of Friday afternoon, Aug. 10.
In the early morning hours of Wednesday, inmates William Lowell Calkins and Roy Charles Hampton escaped from the Minnehaha County Community Correction Center in northern Sioux Falls.
Both inmates are classified as minimum security inmates.
Calkins is facing charges of burglary and intentional damage to property. He was being held on a $1,000 cash bond from Minnehaha County.
Hampton is charged with possession of controlled drug with a $500 cash bond from Minnehaha County and also for distribution and manufacture of a controlled drug with a $5,025 cash bond.
