Decomposed body found in St. Paul ditch

ST. PAUL — A badly decomposed body was found in a drainage ditch in St. Paul on Monday afternoon, Oct. 8, police say.

The body was discovered near Randolph Avenue and West Seventh Street about 5 p.m. by an Xcel Energy employee who was doing maintenance work in the area, according to Steve Linders, a spokesman for the St. Paul Police Department.

Investigators have not yet determined the person's age, gender or cause of death, Linders said.
