11:21 a.m. Wednesday: 1000 block of Ryan’s Road, Worthington, female had fallen and was experiencing hip pain.

Crashes

Minnesota State Patrol: 5:22 a.m. Wednesday, U.S. 59 south of Worthington. A 2008 Toyota Sienna operated by Leonel J. Morales, 27, of Worthington, was southbound on Nobles County 10, slid through the stop sign at U.S. 59 and struck a 2008 Saturn SUV operated by Gregorio D. Ramos, 31, of Worthington. Road conditions were listed as snow- and ice-covered. No injuries were reported. The Worthington Fire Department, Nobles County Sheriff’s Office, Worthington Police Department and Sanford Worthington all assisted.

Minnesota State Patrol: Two-vehicle injury crash, 6:04 a.m. Wednesday, Interstate 90, Des Moines Township, Jackson County. A 2003 Volkswagen Passat operated by Santos Lucio Sebastian, 23, of Worthington and a 2005 Dodge Caravan operated by Marcos Castro Ajualip were eastbound on Interstate 90 west of Jackson when Sebastian began merging into the left lane and slowing. Castro Ajualip also merged into the left lane and rear-ended the Passat. Passengers in the Caravan — Bruno Lopez, 22; Janzinta Jimon Velasquez, 23; Filipa Garcia, 35; and Andrea Ajualip, all of Worthington — were transported to Sanford Jackson Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. Road conditions were listed as wet at the time of the crash. The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office assisted.

Lyon County Sheriff’s Office: 7:02 a.m. Wednesday, 4600 block of 210th Street, George, Iowa. Jake E. Peterson, 23, of Sibley, Iowa, was eastbound on 210th Street in a 2010 Ford Edge when he fell asleep. The vehicle then left the road and entered the ditch, coming to a rest in a cornfield. Peterson was transported to Osceola Community Hospital with reported back pain. Peterson’s vehicle sustained approximately $5,000 damage. George Rescue, George Fire Department and Lyon County Ambulance assisted.
