WORTHINGTON -- A Worthington man received a 109-day jail term after drugs were discovered last November in a garage in which he’d been staying.

Rudy Ramirez, 25, was convicted Wednesday of felony fifth-degree drug possession in Nobles County District Court. Two other charges were dismissed as part of the plea agreement. He’d already served his jail time prior to Wednesdays’ sentencing.

He was also sentenced to three years in prison, which will be stayed pending successful completion of a three-year probationary term. He was also fined $700.

According to court records, charges were dropped in March against Mary Haberman, who was also initially charged as a result of the late November Buffalo Ridge Drug Task Force investigation.
