WINDOM - Criminal charges against several out-of-area men may be filed as a result of a recent organized multi-agency prostitution sting in Windom.
According to a press release from the Windom Police Department, four men were arrested April 25 on gross misdemeanor offenses after showing up at a Windom hotel with the alleged intent to purchase sex from an individual they believed to be older than 18. The suspects had allegedly engaged in sexual communications with an undercover officer prior to agreeing to meet in Windom.
The men were released Friday and will receive a complaint summons and court date from the Cottonwood County Attorney’s Office, the press release stated. It did not appear that charges had been filed by Tuesday morning.

- A 35-year-old male of Palestine, Ill.
- A 23-year-old male of Rapid City, S.D.
- A 43-year-old of Albert Lea.
The police department reports that three additional individuals may face felony charges for sexual solicitation of children. No additional details were provided.
