Crashes

Pipestone County Sheriff’s Office: 12:39 p.m. Saturday, 500 block of Second Street Northeast. A 2009 Chevy Cobalt operated by Stanley Benson of Pipestone struck a legally parked 2004 Mazda operated by Krista Otter of Sioux Falls, S.D. The Mazda then struck a 2006 Hyundai Sonata operated by Jeffrey Enger of Jasper. Benson was transported to PIpestone County Medical Center by Pipestone County Ambulance. The Cobalt sustained moderate damage, while the Mazda and Sonata each had minor damage.

Pipestone County Sheriff’s Office: 4:54 p.m. Sunday, Shopko parking lot, Pipestone. A 1992 Chevy pickup operated by Samuel Wollman of Pipestone was backing up when it struck a pole. The pickup sustained moderate damage. No injuries were reported.

WPD: 5:42 p.m. Sunday, 1200 block of Oxford Street.

NCSO: car vs. deer, 8:58 p.m. Sunday, 14000 block of 250th Street, Adrian.

WPD: 12:04 p.m. Monday, 1600 block of North Humiston Avenue.

Lyon County Sheriff’s Office: Monday, South Union Street and South Third Avenue, Rock Rapids, Iowa. A 2016 Chevy Equinox operated by Dana Fick, 24, of Doon, Iowa was northbound on South Union Street when she rear-ended a 2008 Buick Lucerne operated by a 16-year-old Rock Rapids resident. Fick was cited for following too close. The Lyon County Ambulance assisted.

Fires

6:23 p.m. Friday: 821 W. Main St. W., Pipestone, electrical fire. No injuries were reported.

5:50 p.m. Sunday: 24000 block of 270th Street, Rushmore, brush fire. Rushmore Fire Department dispatched.

Police

Osceola County Sheriff’s Office: Hugo Leonel Sebastian Martinez, 22, of Sioux Center, Iowa. was arrested Sunday for operating while intoxicated first offense and failure to have a valid driver’s license. The arrest came following a deputy checking on a motorist in possible need of assistance on Iowa 60 near 210th Street. Sebastian Martinez was transported to Osceola County Jail and later released after posting a $1,000 bond.
