10:10 a.m. Wednesday: 1900 block of Summit Avenue, Worthington, female who was feeling dizzy.


Lyon County Sheriff’s Office: two-vehicle crash, Monday, Iowa 9 and Jay Avenue. A 2005 Peterbilt semi tractor operated by Valentine Jenniges, 64, of Ellsworth was pulling a 2009 Timpte grain trailer westbound on Iowa 9, while a 2011 Kenworth semi tractor operated by Anthony Bosch, 67, of Brandon, South Dakota was pulling a 2016 Wilson grain trailer northbound on Jay Avenue. Bosch’s tractor/trailer combination failed to yield at the intersection stop sign and struck the Jenniges tractor/trailer combination. Both vehicles were loaded with corn at the time of the collision; each was a total loss. Assisting at the scene were the Rock Rapids Fire Department, Lyon County Ambulance, Iowa State Patrol, and Iowa Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Enforcement.

Lyon County Sheriff’s Office: car vs. light pole, Tuesday, Avera Merrill Pioneer Hospital, Rock Rapids, Iowa. A 2011 Hyundai operated by Carla Knoblock, 54, of Lester, Iowa was turning around in the parking lot when the driver got blinded by the sun, then struck the pole. The vehicle sustained approximately $6,000 in damage. Knoblock was uninjured.
