PIPESTONE — A Minneapolis resident was arrested in Pipestone Thursday evening after a reporting party notified law enforcement that he had assaulted a victim by choking.
The reporting party, a juvenile, explained that Pierre Dozier Jr., 31, had been choking a victim, and the victim was begging for air.
Police observed red marks on the victim's neck.
Dozier was located in the basement of the home, arrested and charged with felony domestic assault by strangulation, which carries a maximum possible sentence of three years in prison and/or a $5,000 fine. If he's convicted, Dozier will be sentenced based on his criminal history.
Dozier was released from Pipestone County Jail Friday after posting $5,000 of conditional bail.
