PIPESTONE— A rural Clear Lake, South Dakota man was pronounced dead at the scene Monday following the investigation of a shooting incident in rural Pipestone County.
The Pipestone County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched at 2:52 p.m. Monday to a report of a male subject that had been injured by gunshot wound in the 300 block of 181st Street. When deputies arrived at the scene, it was determined that Stephen Giese, 68, had died.
The sheriff’s office contacted the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension to assist in the investigation. Agents with the bureau, as well as its Mobile Crime Lab, responded to the scene to assist.
There was and is no danger to the general public related to the incident, the sheriff's office reported in its Friday press release on the matter. The incident is still an active investigation, and nothing further is available at this time.
