Accidents
MILFORD, Iowa -- The Dickinson County Sheriff's Office investigated a single-vehicle accident reported at 1:08 a.m. Saturday near the intersection of 260th Avenue and 190th Street. A 2002 Dodge Intrepid operated by Andrew Bowman, 21, of Perry, Kan., failed to stop at a stop sign, went through the intersection and lost control, entering a ditch and rolling. Bowman was transported by ambulance to Lakes Regional Hospital, Spirit Lake, Iowa, with incapacitating injuries. Vehicle damage was estimated at $6,000. The Arnolds Park Police Department, Okoboji Police Department and Milford Rescue also assisted at the scene.
LAKEFIELD -- The Minnesota State Patrol investigated a semi-trailer accident reported at 2:45 a.m. Monday on Minnesota 86, six miles north of the Minnesota-Iowa line. A 1998 Peterbilt semi operated by Matthew J. Lentsch, 27, of Stewart, with an attached trailer loaded with 160 hogs lost control and went off the road to the right, rolling. Twenty hogs died in the accident.
WORTHINGTON -- The Worthington Police Department investigated an accident reported at 8:57 a.m. Monday at the intersection of Bristol Street and Apel Avenue.
